10 Cloverfield Lane movie review

10 Cloverfield Lane
Rank:4.7 out of 5
Starring: John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Bradley Cooper
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for thematic material including frightening sequences of threat with some violence, and brief language.

How to start off about this movie? It was absolutely pulse-pounding! If you are looking for a good thriller look no further than a film Stephen King said left him on the edge of his seat. I felt the same way. The film looks like an apocalyptic survival movie, but it combines that, with psycholigical horror as well. Unlike many other films, it doesn't need massive amounts of nudity or buckets of blood. (There still are some disturbing images). The film managed to keep me entertained till the end. John Goodman played his role very well.

Language: Not that much but an f-word pops up.

Sexual content: A women wears low-cut clothing at times.

Violence: It comes in spurts. While the whole film is somewhat mature it still has some shocking scenes. A woman hits her head against glass until it undoubtedly cracks open. We see a brief spurt of blood before the camera shies away. A man is shot in the head, not shown, but a copious amount of blood is shown on the wall. People punch and hit each other from time to time. A woman hits a man with a beer bottle and has to stitch up the cut in his head, briefly shown. The body parts of a man are shown decaying in acid. A man falls into acid and had part of his face and arms burned off. Creatures attack a woman.

Drug and alcohol: People briefly drink alcohol.

Other: The film is very loud so, be careful who you take along with you to the theater.

Age Rating 14/15+
