The Road (book) Review

A man (that's his name in the book) and his son have to travel down a road. What once was the world is lost. Everything is bleak and grey and ash is everywhere. Not much is discussed about how this happened, but the emotion and empathy for life makes this book a must-read for mature readers.
Language: A few uses of damn, one use of the s-word
Sexual Content: The man and his son bathe naked and are sometimes naked. The Man tells another man to strip down at gunpoint. Not in a sexual way, but to check for hidden weapons. References to The Man's wife having a clingy dress.
Violence: Corpses are strewn about and almost everyone is dead. More specifically The Man stumbles upon a group of victims who have had parts of their bodies eaten by cannibals. A man is shot in the head. Bodies are found in nooses. A baby is found charred in a fire that had started only a few moments before the protagonists got there. It is possible that the baby was only recently born.
Drug and Alcohol: The Man has a swig of whiskey.
Other Content: Once or twice The Man leaves people on the side of the road to die. While he probably couldn't do anything this makes it very sad.
