Everest
Starring: Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Keira Knightley.
Rated PG-13 for intense peril and disturbing images
Rating: 5/5
Remember Gravity? Yeah, that's right the Sandra Bullock movie that won an Oscar despite its lack of story. But, you may also remember seeing that on the big screen and watching in awe at all the reality of space. Everest takes that to a whole new level. Unlike Gravity, Everest is a true story, and is of course more realistic. The acting is superb and the thrills are intense and riveting. There was no language or sex in the entire film, (except one use of frikin'). This just proves that you don't need that content to make a good movie. This film had me rooting for the climbers the whole way as each had his/her own problems, people died, and were hurt. I will make a note while I saw it in 2D there were several scenes I knew that a lot of people could not handle in 3D, such as the ladder scene.
