Counterfeit Son Content Review (book)

Its a creul world we live in. This book definetly shows that. If you don't know already this story is about a son of  a serial killer. Honestly, I can't say a lot about the plot without spoiling the book. It has some really cool plot twists. There is no sexual content. Which is a relief.

The biggest negative element in this book is the lies. Cameron lies to the police twice, one of the lies he says protects his father who killed twenty-three boys. The book, however is not graphic, but it does deal with very mature issues of kidnapping, child abuse, and murder.

Ultimately, in the end this book has some good role models, and the fact that there's no sex would make parents let younger kids read it. Let me just say, child abuse is very mature.

Language: One use of prick.

Sexual content: None

Violence: Cameron is beaten by his own father. Most of the beatings aren't described, but Cameron does come out of the beatings with broken bones. Also, twenty-three other boys are murdered and that is not described. Really all the violence is implied and it is very mature.

Drugs and Alcholol: Cougar is drunk.

Other:Lies, lies, and more lies. Although we discover some of them aren't technically lies. I would spoil the book if I said more, but Cameron lies to a lot of people.

Age Rating: 13+
