Cassie is the last human on earth. Well, at least for a while. Then she finds this boy named Evan with eyes the color of chocolate. Meanwhile, her high school crush Ben is being trained in a military base.
I can't really say much more about the character's adventures because it would spoil the book. This book deals with aliens and the apocalypse. It mixes romance, action, and grittiness. Frankly, this book is a page-turner.
Language: 7 or 8 uses of f--k (These are used in very emotional scenes, never casually.) Some uses of sh-t, b---h, ass, damn, and hell. Also, crap and other slang for swear words such as frikin'.
Sex: Cassie discovers that Evan bathed her. (Not sexually). She thinks about it because she knows that means Evan has seen her fully naked. Characters kiss. Cassie and Evan fall asleep on top of each other. (They are completely clothed. They do not engage in foreplay or intercourse).
Violence: Billions of people die. Their deaths aren't really described, but sometimes their corpses are. Also, kids die and are killed. A main character watches her own father be shot in the head. Some of the deaths are gross and disturbing. I cringed a couple of times. The most graphic sequence of the book is when Cassie shoots a innocent man because she thinks the man is trying to kill her. She found him bleeding to death and he was holding his stomach in.
Drugs and Alcholol: NONE
Other: This book deals with the apocalypse. Also, some scenes are slightly gross.
