Paper Towns content review (book)

Summary:  This summer the author of The Fault in our Stars will get another one of his books made into a film. Paper Towns to me is just good. There is so many reasons why. Its funny, its charming, and its filled with mystery. Don't worry. The mystery isn't your stereotype blood-filled adventure. Instead, its a romance. There is nothing like it.

This book does have a couple scenes of teen partying. Teens get very drunk. However, most of the drunken teens are just acting crazy not having sex or vandalizing things.

Language: 8 or 9 uses of f--k, one use of d--k, s--t is used a lot more frequently. Also, there are uses of a--, b---h, hell, and damn. Quentin swears in front of his parents once or twice. Not strongly though.

Sex: No body engages in intercourse in the book. Probably the most sexual scene is when Quentin passes by a door at a party and hears something going on. We find out its two side characters engaging in foreplay. Then they stop because one of them saying something. When they were together they were completely clothed.
Weirdly, Quentin describes going pee. Its not graphic ("I shake the rest out, then zip up my pants...".)
There are references to teens having sex. Quentin and Margo take a somewhat nude photo of Margo's boyfriend. This scene was not graphic either.
References to condoms, oral sex STD, "balls"and penises. Also, the size of balls and male genitals is also referenced.

Violence: Margo and Q (Quentin) find a man who shot himself. Its described a little bit. Q thinks that Margo might have killed herself when she disappeared, and he thinks about finding her body in the same predicament as the man they both found before. Q's minivan goes into the ditch. Nobody is significantly hurt, Q pulls his hand away from his cheek and blood is on his hand.

Drugs and Alcohol: As mentioned before there is a couple scenes of teen partying. One main character drinks a beer keg upside down and beats a record for the highest time. Teens get very drunk. But, at least Q's friends at the party designate him as a driver. Q didn't drink himself. Ben (Q's best friend) puts 212 bottles of beer in the back of Q's minivan for a party. None of them are drunken and the party Ben was going to put on never happened. Teens take Nyquil to go to sleep in a scene.

Other: Ben begins to pee into one of the minivan's beer bottles and then he goes into another one. All the while the first pee-filled bottle sits on the minivan's center console. Then once Ben's done they throw the two bottles out the window. This scene isn't overly graphic and its not meant to be sexual. it was just gross.
